The last few weeks have flown by. Last weekend Craig and I helped out at Celebrate Freedom so the kids got to spend the weekend at their grandparents. My 8 year old cousin Hope was visiting from Flordia so they had a blast and were totally exhausted by the time they came home. It took us all a couple of days to re-coop from the crazyness of the weekend.

My friend, Kelly, gave birth to the most beautiful baby boy named Caleb this week. I was amazed out how alert he already was when I went to visit them in the hospital. He is going to be such an amazing blessing to their family.

For the 4th of July weekend we stuck close to home and went to Haslet for fireworks on Friday and did some fireworks with the neighbors. The firework show in Haslet was surprisingly good. It was very close to what they do in Southlake or over Lake Grapevine minus the traffic, they even had free snacks and snowcones.

This summer we are watching a 9 year old girl named Cloe. She has been such a blessing for us and already feels like part of the family. She and Kinsey love to do each others make-up, write songs and chase Ben around the house. We have been trying to go to the pool most days which is great for me because when we get home they are all exhausted!!! Last Friday morning I gave the girls facials while Ben was asleep. When he got up and saw the girls he said, "Don't put any of that yucky green stuff on me!"

This is the first summer that I have been able to stay at home with the kids and I am LOVING IT!!! We have spent much of the first two weeks swimming, playing outside seeing family. My brother, Bryan, came in to town from Las Vegas for my birthday. It was great to see him! He hadn't been home since April of 2008.

It has been such a blessing that God has put a couple of wonderful girls in Kinsey's life this school year and I have loved watching their friendships grow, even though this does mean that I am finding a lot more glitter around the house :)

With all of this rainy, cloudy weather, I have been feeling VERY unmotivated so I have slacked on my duties of updating this blog. The last two weekends were a little bit extended family oriented. We went to two birthday parties (one each weekend) which was nice because this year I haven't been able to see my family as much as I've wanted to. The first party was for my cousin Hudson. It was a bounce party in Granbury. The location is great! There was lots of room for the kids to run around and a great assortment of jump houses. The kids were exhausted by the time the party was over which was nice b/c it was a quiet hour drive home. The second party was at Razoos for my sister Amber who turned 17. It was YUMMY! The kids LOVED the fried pickles!

Easter Goodies

Today the Womack's got creative. Aunt Irina came over and we made Easter Bunny rice krispy treats. Kinsey's turned out great - they actually looked like bunnies. Ben seems to have an eye for the abstracts. Eyes where tail goes, nose for an ear, that sort of thing. They each made a few bunnies, then Kinsey used to remaining frosting to turn to rice krispies into Easter Eggs. They all turned out really cute.

One Funny Little Guy

I am constantly wishing that I could see into my children's minds for a few minutes just to know the thought process that is taking place.

Our son Ben has a thing about taking off his clothes in order to use the restroom. It is something that we have been working on for a while but he just hasn't seemed to grasp that this is unnecessary . So a couple of days ago I am sitting in the living room reading a book when Ben comes out of the restroom naked from the waist down and says "Hey Mom!" I begin to say "Ben go get your clothes back on." when he turns around with toilet paper hanging from his bottom and says "Look, I'm a bunny!" It was all I could do not to fall over laughing, but as a responsible parent I had to explain to my 3 year old son that it is not appropriate to walk around with toilet paper hanging out of our bottoms. This is not a conversation that I thought I would ever have to have with someone. I can just picture him sitting in the bathroom thinking to himself "I wonder what would happen if...." He is such a funny little guy!
